AWC now powered by Glacier FarmMedia

After six years and 12 Advancing Women in Agriculture Conferences, we took a major step recently by forming a partnership with Glacier FarmMedia (GFM). Read the full media release here.

We are delighted to be joining the Glacier FarmMedia family, Canada’s source for print and online farm news and information and a provider of events that connect farm audiences. We feel that this collaboration will expand the reach of the Advancing Women events, products and services and help us bring more resources and initiatives to our growing Advancing Women community.

Our Advancing Women in Agriculture team remains the same, with Iris Meck at the helm working with our established network of women entrepreneurs who have helped us build this business over the last six years. We look forward to expanding our dedicated team with the talents of Glacier FarmMedia staff as we continue to create bigger and better opportunities for women in agriculture across Canada.

“Over the years, we have welcomed and inspired over 5,000 women across Canada through our AWC events,” says Iris Meck, AWC founder and Glacier FarmMedia’s new Director of Conferences. “As we begin this new chapter, with the power and resources of the Glacier FarmMedia family, our Advancing Women Conferences will continue to provide a strong and growing suite of agriculture-related events, features and timely information that is focused on women in all sectors of agriculture.”

Advancing Women Conference Going Virtual

Thank you for your interest in our conference. As many of you may know, our AWC WEST 2020 conference was cancelled in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our AWC EAST 2020 conference, scheduled for November in Niagara Falls, has also been cancelled due to COVID-19.

To support our women in agriculture community, we are hosting a new AWC 2020 virtual conference to connect women in agriculture through a dynamic new online experience.

Like so many people around the world, women farm producers, agribusiness owners, entrepreneurs, students and all the businesses that support women in agriculture are facing unprecedented challenges and uncertainties during this pandemic. While COVID-19 has taken away our ability to meet in-person at our scheduled conferences this year, we want to help facilitate connectedness within our community – something that is needed now more than ever.
